FINDING ‘VANORO’

OUR JOURNEY INTO THE ROOTS OF OUR SURNAMES, NORSE

‘INGRAHAM’ AND GREEK ‘TROIANO’, TO DISCOVER OUR NEW

NAMESAKE AS THE TAPROOT OF A VITAL MYTHOLOGICAL TRUTH

For our surname ‘Vanoro,’ the journey of how Rog and I arrived at it was a deep process of

discovery.

We wanted to honor the roots of our names, our blood lineages, and our family lines.

Names are rooted in cultures, gifts and wisdoms passed on generation after generation, altered here and there in a long game of ‘telephone.’

What was potentially once ‘Inghraban’ (Ing’s raven)

became ‘Ingraham” over hundreds to thousands of years.

Choosing our name, we honour both our lineages tracing our blood and ancestors back,

Preserving the threads and honoring the wisdoms at the roots of each to find the refined truth and essence of the embodied meaning in the myths our names hold.

ROGER’s surname INGRAHAM can be traced back to INGVY of the Norse mythology.

INGVY was commonly referred to as

FRYER, (Lord Ingvy),

who was highly associated with agriculture, weather, sorcery, seeing into the future, and as a phallic fertility god,

I mean, that's Roger, pretty uncanny huh?! ha

Ingvy bestows peace and pleasure on mortals.

He was one of the VENEER, the Norse Earth gods as a primary fertility and harvest guide.

He was also sometimes referenced vaguely in texts as the sun.

My given surname, TROIANO, finds the etymological root in TROJAN, referring to the city of TROY, named after TROS, a Greek mythological figure in Greek mythology tropes.

TROS takes you back to the great great great grandfather ORANOS the sky god, who consorted with his polar opposite Gaia In order to give birth to the first TITANS.

Essentially, Titans are the first spirits of nature that govern the elements.

GAIA and ORONOS represent the first polarity in the cosmos.

The black rich primordial grounds

and the vast celestial sky of consciousness.

There is a common underlying theme here between our names,

EARTH and SKY.

But this theme embedded in the mythologies actually refers to a single shared mythology that gave rise to Greek and Norse culture.

There was a symbolic war between VANEER, the EARTH GODS

and ORONOS, the SKY GODS.

This was this war that actually represents the ways the elements of nature are constantly in flux between sky and earth, trying to ever reconcile their polarities.

The rivers the oceans evaporating from the fiery heat of the sun,

forming storm clouds and lighting,

bringing moist winds and rainfall to water the soil of death,

where all dies into

and then blessed with life giving waters

gives rise and birth to the green new life and abundant harvests.

This is how harmony was struck in nature between the great polarities of earth and sky.

So, it turns out, that the roots of our names combined represents this Myth…our composite souls true will…

What Our Name Represents

A language about life and death and how they interrelate and how they speak to each other and how they harmonize in the elements.

So, even more so, all our ancestors are alive in us honoring the gifts and pains that are the signatures of the longing’s unfulfilled in lifetimes past. In this present time inside of our union we heal the holographic threads of the pains and longings that have been protected and shielded and to remember and reflect the power and nature of essence and beauty abundance fertility and new life that comes with the gifts of holding this hologram in this way and alchemizing the powers that be.

With Love

Antonia & Roger
